Stealth Alternative Controls
Alternative Drive Controls
Any control that is ordered or set up to be another option for driving other than a standard drive control with a power chair is considered an alternative drive control.
Drive controls in general are categorized in two different functionalities:
Non-Proportional (Switch) are drive controls that are activated by switches or sensors and drive without a progressive increment from an OFF to an ON state. Some non-proportional drive controls, like the Stealth i-Drive, behave as a semi-proportional control, allowing for a better learning curve and more confidence during the users driving experience. Semi-Proportional drives allow the change of sensor state, or driving function activation, in a more progressive and smooth increment.
Proportional drive controls are more commonly used in a joystick where the driving functions (Left, Right, Forward, and Reverse) are dependent upon the amount of pressure, or force, applied to the control. Individuals with very limited motor skills are able to maintain a level of independence. Joysticks are classified by their pounds/grams of force or newton’s units of pressure; the smaller the amount of pressure required the less force the individual has to exert to operate the mobility base or any other function that has been programmed in the power chair interface.
i‑Drive® Alternative Drive Control System
i‑Drive® Head Arraysi-Drive new curved ergonomic design provides a comfortable fit that allows for natural reach of head switches. Our head arrays offer superior configuration and driving experience.
i‑Drive® Traysi-Drive Trays can provide Capacitive or Fiber Optic Proximity Sensors with Gatlin Mounting only. This allows mobility and independence for individuals with low head control.
i‑Drive® Sip & PuffThe Sip & Puff option for i-Drive incorporates a wand that allows the use of breath for input control.
i‑Drive® Precision Proportional Joysticksi-Drive Joysticks are specially designed to work with the i-Drive system and can be easily configured with APS (Advanced Programming Software).
i‑Drive® Configuration SoftwareThe i-Drive's APS (Advanced Programming Software) is not required to operate the drive control, but is available to ensure a customized fit and driving experience.
How to order an i-Drive?When ordering an i-Drive, because of it extensive configuration abilities, you have numerous options available which were previously not available in this industry.
Proportional Drive Control System
mo‑vis™ Micro JoystickThe Micro Joystick is our most sensitive joystick yet! Its small, ergonomic design was developed for easy use for those with poor or weak muscular power or restricted movement.
mo‑vis™ Multi JoystickThe Multi Joystick is designed for those users with limited muscular power such as ALS or MS. It requires slightly more force than the Micro Joystick but is still ultra sensitive.
Stealth Precision Mini Proportional JoystickThe Stealth Mini Proportional Joystick is one of the most precise, robust, and multiple axis proportional controllers available for use on a power wheelchair.
Stealth MushroomThe Mushroom Joystick offers a unique mechanical and tactile configuration which appears to amplify minimal force and ROM, and provides a valid option for good hand control.
mo‑vis™ All Round JoystickThe All-Round Joystick is a compact version of the standard electronic wheelchair joystick. Comes with two activation force versions.
mo‑vis™ Heavy Duty JoystickThe All-Round Heavy Duty Joystick is a large, extremely durable joystick. Can serve as a hand or foot operated joystick. Developed for users with excessive force.
