i2i Upper Torso Support Series
Using a head support is part of a complete seating intervention and should be informed by the findings of a seating assessment so each individual's needs can be met.
The i2i is designed to:
- Help maintain overall positioning goals.
- Help minimize the risk of the progression of cervical deformities. Unsupported positions may become fixed.
- Assists in providing an upright head position and promote eye contact.
- Help to improve a person's mealtime experience and saliva management.

i2i Overview:
- The unique, integrated shape of the i2i provides a maximal, proximal foundation between the head, neck, and shoulders. The sub occipital along with the integrated low profile occipital components provide posterior support and limit cervical extension while offering resting support.
- The lateral components promote a midline head position and offer cervical supporting while maintaining range of motion.
- Anterior stabilizer arms act as an anchor for the chin prompt, and provide an anterior boundary channeling movement into a midline position.
- The chin prompt is designed to provide anterior support, to keep the head more midline for meals, and to encourage neck muscle strengthening. It is designed with a curved contact surface and straps that allow it to slide when an unsafe amount of force is exerted, therefore preventing airway obstruction.
- For safety, the chin prompt should ONLY be used under a caregivers supervision, and is NOT to be used during transportation.

i2i Features
- The standard i2i creates an exoskeleton around the neck providing cervical support from the shoulders to the lower portion of the occipital.
- The rear of the i2i provides support for the occipital and sub occipital regions.
- Stabilizer arms provide an anterior boundary to combat slipping forward due to muscle fatigue or gravity.
- Ear cutouts provide relief for sensitivity or easy access to the ears.
- Adjustable arms adjust laterally, creating open space for the client or devices.
- The low profile provides neck and shoulder support while keeping the occipital regions free.
- Short arms free space on the clients chest while providing an anterior boundary to a lesser degree.
Custom Configurations
Every head support needs to be as individualized as the person requiring it. The Ultra QCRS, in conjunction with the i2i, provides a versatile positioning system with remarkable adjustment capabilities and a portfolio of options and accessories to meet virtually any client's needs.

Hardware Options
Link Style Flip Down Hardware
- Multiple planes of adjustment allow critical adjustment of anterior, posterior, and angle.
- Separate links isolate adjustment planes and angles.
- Individual link adjustment achieves the most complex head support solutions.
- Standard removal option or integrated push button that allows the hardware to flip down, eliminating misplacement.
Tone Deflector and Back Mounts
Back Mounts
FDM350
HMO-OB
-
Add additional adjustments to the headrest mounting with back mounting accessories:
- The FDM350 provides flip down for mounting hardware with 1/2in. square tubing.
- The HMO-OB track provides vertical adjustment to the head support to adapt to asymmetry.
- The SBM300H and SBM300U interface plate is used to provide and adapter for solid backplates.
- The SBM351 1in. interface clamp allows a headrest to be mounted onto a 1in. crossbar.
SUS9 Swing Away Option
- Varied systems offer attachment points for support surfaces and switch access.
- Swing-away rods adjust in angle, rotation, and length.
- Rods swing out of the way 100° for transfer, therapy, and when not needed.
- Adjustable pads block lateral flexion, rotation, and provide a surface for support.
- Rods swing back into place without losing their position.
Swing Away Configurations
Rod Lengths
- Rods function as the adjustable connection between the Swing Away and the pad.
- Choose a length of 6 in., 13 in., 24 in., or custom length and shape.
- Size options all accommodate facial pads and switches.
Facial Pads and Accessories
Facial Lateral Pads
- Facial lateral pads facilitate proper clinical interventions.
- Adjustable to achieve midline head position, or to block rotation and flexion.
- Aids in deterring advancement of cervical deformities and muscle foreshortening.
- The longer pads (900 & 910) are bendable to fit the contact area.
- Comes standard with 1/2 in. closed cell foam and neoprene covers.
- Gel and viscoelastic foams may be added.
- Lateral facial pads are an important clinical intervention.
Switches & Inputs
- Stealth's full selection of switches are supported by lateral rods and Swing Aways.
- Support and switch access can be added and adjusted for the best clinical outcomes.
