If your device is not recognized by the i-Drive® Advanced Programming Software (APS), you need to download and install the USB drivers available from the download page:

Go to i-Drive Programmer Page and download the new driver:
Make sure to download the correct drive for you i-Drive. If you are not sure of this call our customer service for information. Click in the link and the download window will pops up.
After downloading the file extract the file, take note where the file has been extracted because you will need it later. Extract the file.
Note If you don’t have an application to decompress compressed files you can download 7-zip which is an open source application.
Open Device Manager (Click Start and type Device Manager in search box):
And install the driver downloaded recently... To do this, connect your i-Drive device and in the Device Manager look for "Other devices" expand it (if its not) and right click over "Unknown Device". If you have more than one Unknown Device see not below.
Click "Browse my computer for driver software":
Click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer":
If the system ask for the type of device you are trying to install, select "Ports (COM & LPT)" from "Select your device's type from the list below"
Click Next... Then "Have Disk"...
The "Install From Disk" window will pops up, "Browse" for the extracted file, select it and click "Open"...
Clicked "OK" on the "Install From Disk" window...
Then click "Next"... check 'Always trust software from "Trident Research LLC" ' and Install...
Install takes some time...
The System Sound of new device connected is played when "USB Serial Port (COM[?])" is successfully installed. [?] Will be a number generated by the system, in this example is COM7
Device Manager now should shows up the port successfully recognized...
